The durable outer shell is made with U.S.A made #11/midweight 100% cotton duck canvas, and is fully lined with a cute berry on navy pattern. The bag features all metal hardware and has adjustable padded straps. When the straps are locked properly, they will not move. The Sheila Sack ties shut with a simple bow and two copper rings act as stops to make sure the tie will not come out of the grommets.
This large, full size sack is fully washable. If you hand wash, lay flat to dry and run an iron over it, your sack will look great for a long time.
Each Shelia Sack is truly one of a kind. The limited edition “scattered triangle” print (2021) made 4 Sheila Sacks (each in their own color)and two hand bags.
“What do you mean by handmade?”
By handmade I mean ... I purchased the American made cotton canvas unfinished by the roll. For this project I cut and hand processed the canvas with a wash, pre-shrink, and iron before use. I hand cut and hand stenciled 3 yards of scattered triangles with permanent heat set textile paint, the paint and dye I use is permanent and also made in U.S.A. Some of the hardware is made from recycled copper, hand cut & hand finished. After the bag was entirely assembled, I added an asymmetrical ombré dye job to enhance the look and color the bottom. Dye and paint are treated for permanency. You might, well ok... will likely find minor irregularities in these bags, such as a wayward seams, dye spots or paint smudges, please accept this as a beauty mark of the handmade item. I stand behind my stitches and offer free repair if one gives way. The photos are not photoshopped of flaws.
